I was first introduced to Svaroopa ® Yoga as a result of a quest to find something that would quiet my mind and help relieve stress. Although I was never very athletic, I went to the gym for spinning classes, step aerobics and weight lifting. I chose exercises that were moving my body at the same pace as my mind. I would fall asleep at night exhausted believing I had achieved my goal of reducing stress with exercise. But I woke up every morning filled with anxiety.
I decided to try yoga because it is know to relieve stress. After my first Svaroopa ® Yoga class, I realized I found what I was looking for. My body felt rejuvenated but more importantly, I felt relaxed not exhausted. My mind was quieter. I never knew you could feel physically energetic without the buzz of anxiety. As I delved further into Svaroopa ® Yoga, I began to see changes not only in my body, I felt stronger, more flexible, but I also began to feel relaxed, energized and happier.
The yearning to learn more and help others led me to become a teacher.In 2006 I became a Certified Svaroopa ® Yoga Teacher (CSYT). I have trained extensively with the originator of Svaroopa ® Yoga, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati at Master Yoga Foundation. I am currently teachingSvaroopa ® Yoga classes at Roots & Wings Healing Arts in Natick, MA where I also offer Svaroopa ® Yoga Therapy. Prior to becoming a yoga teacher, I was a Certified Public Accountant.
